Started by a group of local West Marin artists, Parachute Days is a temporary multi-purpose community venue built on Love Field, a retired baseball field between Inverness and Pt. Reyes Station in West Marin County, California. The intention of this space is to encourage intergenerational collaboration through the sharing and creating of music, art, and culture in a uniquely designed outdoor community event venue, which, we believe, is needed now more than ever.
Our design focuses on recycled material and reclaimed sustainable building. We encourage a theme of repurposing, which is reflected in our decision to re-imagine the use of an army parachute that would otherwise be utilized in war and, instead, turning it into the centerpiece which holds a safe space for creativity and peaceful collaboration.
We dedicate this project to the local families, artists, musicians, teachers, and the entire West Marin community.
